This course is designed for individuals wishing to work in the Floristry Industry and gain a qualification. The course provides training in the retail and floristry skills necessary to be able to undertake all aspects of floristry. Within Each level you will find that the course below is embedded. These course competencies are delivered and assessed within cluster groups. Retail units are delivered online, with practical experience being within your workplace or simulated workplace.
Certificate II level‐ includes basic retail skills, plus the basic requirements for a floristry assistant in care and management of flowers and floristry supplies.
Certificate III level‐ include all the units within the certificate III, plus creative design units and display units. At this level you may also choose 2 elective units.
At Certificate IV level, special emphasis is given to fostering the individual's ability to be self-directed in a management role. As well as learning management and retailing skills such as how to minimise theft and how to balance registers and terminals (this section is via on‐line flexible learning) from all units at certificate II & III levels.
Throughout the course, you will also be taught advanced skills in preparing and displaying floristry stock. Work placement with Industry is included for students. Subjects also cover the elements and principles of design and how they relate to flower and folio arrangements, and how to arrange bouquets, wreaths and corsages.
